You may have heard of this already, and honestly, there are hundreds of recipes. All of them are good for you, so just find the recipe that tastes best to you! I am not a fan of milk, so I don’t do the golden milk type recipes.
More important than the recipe you choose, is that you are incorporating Turmeric in your diet.
Well other than Curry being AMAZING, turmeric is naturally detoxing and it helps with inflammatory pain! That’s not all! I don’t buy into anything being a “cure all,” but Turmeric has a lot of uses!
I have used Turmeric for pain management, heavy metal detoxing, an expectorant, and overall ease from inflammation.
Whatever your reason for wanting turmeric in your life, Turmeric Tea is a great way to do it!
I make this by the cup, but I have heard of people making extra and storing it in the fridge. (Well the part before the water)
I mix the “tea” in a mug, and in a kettle boil water to pour over it.
Turmeric is a strong flavor and is something you should work up to in small doses. You can always add more sugar or honey to balance the flavor. You can change up the measurements to suit your tastes.
In a mug mix:
- 1/8th teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/8th teaspoon Cinnamon (also super amazing!) Or 1 drop essential oil!
- 1/2 Tablespoon sugar (brown sugar is good too!)
- a big ole glob of honey (local raw is also amazing for you!)
Pour very hot water over and stir well. Turmeric and Cinnamon both are heavy and will sink to the bottom so you may want to stir often. It has an odd consistency as you drink it, and for some, that may take getting used too. You will feel the effects pretty quick too!
I only drink this when I feel like I need it, or just a change in my nightly routine.
